What is Social Enterprise Procurement?

Social Enterprise Procurement is when a business or government chooses to buy goods and services from a Social Enterprise. Switching to Social Enterprise Procurement delivers the same quality while helping create a fairer and more sustainable world.

Social Procurement is a way for businesses to meet sustainability and ESG goals simply by switching suppliers. That could include local suppliers, indigenous suppliers, Social Enterprises and others. Social Enterprise Procurement is a specific type of Social Procurement that creates some of the most impactful procurement outcomes, that complements sustainable and inclusive procurement.

UNISUS GROUP

Unisus Group is an organisation that started in 2019 with a passion and drive to tackling social, economic and stigma barriers associated with disadvantaged, displaced and long term unemployed job seekers. In an inclusive and encouraging environment we work with job seekers who have faced challenges and barriers with gaining employment opportunities including people with disabilities, mental health conditions, indigenous job seekers, Women displaced due to domestic violence, at risk youth and long term unemployed. Sometimes people just need a chance and some understanding, someone to look past the stigma and barriers and offer a leg up. We are that someone.

We currently offer a canteen service to small – medium – and large construction sites within Geelong and Melbourne with further expansion in 2022 to offer more services to more areas. There are  a number of custom built options available that are designed to evolve with the project from civil works right through to 2000 people on site.

Our most recent project (scheduled for completion in 2022) is the $900 million dollar John Holland – Chisholm Road Prison Project located in Lara where we provide two canteens, corporate on-site catering, source and supply produce locally for site wide functions such as BBQ’s. We also have a dedicated coffee van on site for those looking for their morning caffeine hit.  We have 11 staff employed at this site.
